BlueChoice HealthPlan continually evaluates our prescription drug formularies and drug management programs to ensure effective management of quality and costs. We work with a group of independent doctors and pharmacists to assess our pharmacy programs and get recommendations.

Based on the group’s feedback, BlueChoice® will make changes to our prescription drug coverage and Affordable Care Act (ACA) covered vaccine list. Please note, the prescription drug coverage changes only apply to BlueChoice groups using either the BlueChoice Prescription Drug List or the Tiered Prescription Drug List. They do NOT apply to groups using any other formulary.

Impacted members will be sent a notification letter in May.
Formulary Updates
These drugs will be added to the formulary effective July 1, 2022.

Exclusions
The products listed in this section have alternatives available on the formulary, many times at a lower cost to the member. Some covered alternatives may require prior authorization.

ACA Covered Vaccine Update
Effective July 1, 2022, the OptumRx* standard ACA vaccine list will be updated to include Vaxneuvance (PCV15) and Prevnar 20 (PCV20).
