Great news for our Unitedhealthcare customers in the Charleston metro area (and the entire South Carolina lowcountry)!

United Healthcare just announced that Roper St. Francis has renewed their In Network relationship with United. Details from the release:

Roper St. Francis has recently renewed its network relationship with UnitedHealthcare, giving people enrolled in UnitedHealthcare individual, employer-sponsored and Medicare Advantage plans continued in network access to both health systems. UnitedHealthcare and RSF agreed to make the new contract retroactive to March 1, 2015, ensuring UnitedHealthcare plan participants do not experience any interruption in their in-network benefits coverage for services received at Roper St. Francis facilities and with their RSF physicians.
“Roper St. Francis is a leading provider of health care services in the Charleston community, and this renewed network relationship lays the foundation for future collaboration on health issues that matter to our plan participants,” said Garland Scott, CEO, UnitedHealthcare of the Carolinas. “We are pleased that individuals and families in the Lowcountry will continue to have local access to critical health services.”
The healthcare system includes Roper Hospital on the Charleston peninsula, Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in West Ashley and Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital in Mount Pleasant.

If you owe a fee with your taxes for not having health coverage in 2014 and don’t yet have South Carolina health coverage for 2015, you may still be able to get coverage for 2015.Tax Penalty Enroll South Carolina CLICK HERE TO SEE PLANS.

The Health Insurance Marketplace is providing individuals and families in South Carolina who need to pay the fee when they file their 2014 taxes with one last chance to get covered for 2015.

This is too important to put off. If you don’t have coverage for the remainder of 2015 you’ll risk having to pay the fee again next year for the portion of this year that you don’t have coverage. The fee for people who don’t have coverage increases in 2015 to $325 per person or 2% of your household income – whichever is higher.

Don’t leave money on the table: Millions of people have already signed up, and 8 out of 10 can find coverage for $100 or less a month with tax credits through the Marketplace. Over 200,00 South Carolina residents signed up for 2015 health coverage, don’t get left out!

We hope you take advantage of this extended opportunity to get quality coverage this year.
